They remind us to choose engaging content that is neccessary for our students to know because it will allow them to make informed decisions and opinions. We have the future of the Earth in our classrooms, we owe it to them to engage them with meaningful knowledge that will impact their life. 
We know all of our students are individuals with unique experiences, so we must provide them with language to express their current knowledge.
