Society often perpetuates negative stereotypes about women, associating them with characteristics such as fragility, inability and lack of productivity, which can result in discrimination and often aggression.

Every hour 26 women are assaulted in our country. That's around 632 cases of aggression a day, and most of these women go through aggression silent.

Given that threats are often made against victims, the number of complaints is still low. According to Pierre de Bourdieu, crime is the product of social excesses.

If you know a woman in this situation who doesn't take any action for the fear that her aggressor will find out, report it.

Dial 180 - Women's Helpline.

Physical violence against women is a serious and widespread problem that transcends social, economic and cultural barriers. Many women face attacks in their homes, where they should find safety. It is essential to understand that domestic violence is not a rare phenomenon, but rather a structural challenge that affects countless women around the world, manifesting itself in different ways, including physical, moral, psychological, sexual and property aggression, perpetuating a difficult cycle to break up.

The consequences of physical violence against women go beyond personal suffering and impact society as a whole. Fear, shame and lack of financial resources often keep victims trapped by their abusers, making it difficult for them to seek help. It is essential to recognize that violence often culminates in femicides, with separation being a particularly dangerous moment for women, where the majority of cases occur.

Addressing physical violence against women requires a comprehensive and ongoing approach. Protecting victims and punishing aggressors is fundamental, but not sufficient. The integration of this topic into school curricula, the development of public prevention policies, awareness campaigns and the dissemination of laws to protect women's rights are essential measures. Violence against women is not only a private problem, but also a social and public issue that has implications for the economy and society as a whole. Alarming data indicate that around a third of all women have been victims of physical and/or sexual violence by their partners. Awareness and continued action are crucial to eradicating this problem. #ViolenceAgainstWomen #Awareness #EndViolence

It is common knowledge that feminicide is an issue worthy of recognition and caution, as it affects women from various regions of the world. There are several laws that guarantee their rights, but are they really being implemented in a way that benefits them and reduces gender inequalities?
According to Dalmo de Abreu Dallari: “Citizenship expresses a set of rights that gives the person the possibility of actively participating in the life and government of their people” that is, there are several rights and duties that make up the federal constitution and that have a fundamental nature to run society in a fair and egalitarian manner. However, it is noticeable in society that treatment between these two genders is not given equally, we can mention the difficulty that women have in occupying a professional space, salary inequalities, their smaller presence in politics, the harassment they suffer , in addition to violence at all levels, which we were able to identify through the high rates of femicide.
Although women are not passive victims of male violence, Saffioti maintained that men are the dominant group and women are the subjugated group. In the interpretation of Bandeira (2006), the scholar Saffioti argued that, since women and men do not occupy the same position of power, women's participation in violent gender relations is informed by threats and concrete violence, rather than “consent”. and knowledge to make informed decisions. In short, women would not be “accomplices” to violence (Saffioti, 2001, p. 126), as interpreted by Chauí (1985) and Gregori (1993), nor would there be one gender condition inferior to the other.
Therefore, there must be more effective ways of reporting for victims, so that their integrity, as well as their dignity, are not harmed, not even through humiliation, and that forms of investigation are carried out in a cautious manner.

Helping them to get over this problem is a difficult point as they are often afraid to speak out. This sign means "I need help, gender-based violence" and was created for the Canadian Women's Foundation, a women's protection NGO based in Canada, by a Toronto advertising agency.

The objective was to address the increase in cases of domestic violence during the pandemic, especially in the first lockdowns, and its use has since become popular.
