As a civil rights activist, words to describe my feelings about Kennedy's speech are supported and accomplished. That's because after several years of nation wide protest, we finally got the attention and support of the president. This could be extremely useful because now laws can be passed that end Jim Crow, end separate but equal, end segregation, and give all African Americans an equal chance to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Also, because he condemns discrimination and the practices that are being used, which can change the minds of some Americans, or additionally help for the passage of laws protecting African Americans.

After listening, I would be overwhelmed with relief knowing that the president has recognized the brutal discrimination people ar enduring, I am also glad that the President is continuing to shed light on the unjust crimes and situations we are put in since apparently, the coverage of the open casket funeral for Emmett Till was not enough. I am feeling hopeful that maybe this will push people over to the side of equality and freedom for ALL.
