The differences in findings could be because of how the studies were done or biased reporting. Also the type of violence in games and who you are playing against might matter. In 1967 Ralph Bear invents the Brown Box that leads to the invention of Magnavox Odyssey in 1972.</p><p>During the late 1970s and early 1980s the gaming industry grew in market and variety even creating Packman and Donkey Kong, however the industry would face a colossal crush in 1983. </p><p>The gaming industry would later be revitalised in 1985 by Nintendo with the NES with franchises like Super Mario or Zelda. Console wars led by big competition with Sega's Genesis 1989.</p><p>The industry shifted to 3D gaming in mid-1990s with consoles like Sega Saturn, Sony PlayStation and Nintendo 64. Wild success of PlayStation 2.</p><p>Beginning of the modern era 2005-2006 with Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii. Rapid rise of gaming and social media. Creation of Angry Birds and Skylanders.</p><p>the 8th generation of consoles started in 2012 with the Nintendo Wii U, Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft's Xbox One and later Play Station 5 and continuations of the Xbox series.
