In my Government/Economics & US History classes there is a need for direct teaching on many occasions. There are things that the students need to know before they can begin to understand how things operate in the world today.

I try to incorporate projects large and small into my coursework so that students have multiple opportunities to demonstrate what they have learned and how they are using that to help them make sense of their world.

It is primarily a distraction for many. My hope is that we can learn how to effectively incorporate technology into our classrooms so that students come to view it as a tool for learning and project production.

Our administration is supportive of us taking risks and the potential failure that comes with that. So long as we learn from it and move forward, I know this will be a rewarding experience.

Students really enjoyed the freedom of the WebQuest project. They enjoyed finding their own sources and the personalized approach to the assessment in which they chose the cases they wanted to read about.
