The initial problem was The Mohawk River separates the cities of Angel Falls and Hoga. Currently, there is only one bridge that connects the two cities. Since that is the only way for people to travel by car back and forth, there are frequent traffic delays on and near the bridge

One idea my partner and I brainstormed was making an arch bridge but that didn't work out so well so we decided to make a beam bridge instead. We decided to build a beam bridge instead because it was easier and for the amount of time that we had would be more efficient for not only time but the amount of supplies we had. Here is a sketch of our first idea:

Luckily we didn't have to many difficulties but one challenge we had was how to make the middle part of the bridge be able to hold the amount of pennies we where hoping to get to on our bridge. Some constraints we had where You may use only the materials provided by your instructor, ou may only use four sheets of paper and 2 feet of masking tape and You may not tape your bridge down on the testing platform. our criteria was that the bridge must have a length of at least 12in, a width of a least 3in, support the weight of pennies and it should be designed to allow boats to pass below the bridge.

Our model had two small beams on both sides with a fan folded type support/beam in the middle. Our test results where good I think because for the penny stack we got 50 and for the penny spread we got 93.

Some things I would do differently is put one more support in the middle of the bridge to hold the bridge up and give the bridge some more support. I would not build a different bridge type because I think the bridge worked out perfectly, but I would add some more supports. My partner and I worked well together but some things I would do next time is talk yo him more about ideas and different things we can do.
