         <description><![CDATA[<p>William Lloyd Garrison published the Liberator, which was a newspaper that talked about anti-slavery movements. Other abolitionists such as Sojourner Truth and Fredrick Douglas spread the word about the evils of slavery. These movements hastened the end of slavery through petitions and pleas to congress.</p>]]></description>
