1. Justify each dimension with your own real-life examples.
Communication:

I was a mentor for NGO, whenever I gave feedback, I tried to express my mind and summarise my main ideas in 3 sentences but straight-forward enough so that people could understand them clearly.

Time:

In my culture, we value relationships more than individual needs. I believe people can handle many things at the same time.Especially, while cooking, I can also study or read book at the same time to make use of time efficiently.

Personal space:

For me, i would rather have big personal space to improve and develop my personal skills. I enjoy my time alone in the weekend reading books and listening to the music.

Nature:

In my family, my parents are really strict about dining manner and girl is required to know how to do all households.I cannot change their minds so I will adapt to it and adjust my attitude properly to fit with family's regulation. In some cases, if i do not feel comfortable to do something, i would prefer my parents to decrease the level of task commitment for me.

Orientation:

While studying at school, I usually applied for some clubs myself instead of making use of relationships with clubs' members to be accepted in. ( We had to do the application form and pass all challenges if we want to join in a club)

2.

a. Where are you not in line with your national culture? Reflect why you differ.
Communication:

When talking with other people, in our culture we usually soften our voice and avoid giving strong feedback. However, I was also affected by books and my friends so I usually expressed my opinions straight-forward and expected to receive the same, which is not a normal thing in our culture.

Personal space:

In our culture, we enhance relationship among family members, sometimes even with friends. However, for me I believe some more spaces to develop my personal skills and there are private issues I would love to keep for myself not always talk for my parents.

Orientation

My country is dealing with corruption since many people are using their relations and money to work in some companies, or even moving kids from one school to another. But for most young people like me nowadays, everything should be a result of hard-working and endless effort when on the road striving for the success.

b. Where are you in line with your national culture? Reflect why you are in line.
Time:

Like other Vietnamese citizens, I really care about spiritual values and most of our time will be used for family and friends. I think i can work multi-tasking at the same time since it may save more time while dealing with the tasks.

Kluckhohn:

When coming up with problems, there are some external as well as internal factors. For internal factors, we may be able to see and adjust it. But for external like the environment, the ability we cannot do anything to change them.Hence, i think we should learn balancing between dominating and subjugating with the nature. And the most important mark is to know whether we could do anything to improve the situation before changing or against it remarkably.

1. Answer the following questions in your BSP group meeting:
a. on which two dimensions you have the biggest similarities?

Orientation: All members in our team would prefer to be task-oriented and we are.

Nature: For most of us, we would go for dominating with the nature. In some certain cases, there are compulsory requirements that we cannot do much and we have to be in harmony status, we will try our best to adapt to the new environment and maybe try to adjust a little of the circumstances.

b. on which two dimensions you have the biggest ‘gap’ to bridge?

Time: Most my team members are European so they prefer to work each task respectively rather than doing multi-tasking.

Personal space: My team members prefer to work individually and have more private spaces for their personal life.

c. How do you deal with those differences in your group? Are your strategies effective until now?
Since my friends prefer having more personal spaces and spend time doing task themselves, i would love to respect them and let they choose what they want to.In certain case, my writing style is quite different from other people so we will do the double-checking together to make sure we have done an effective task. Furthermore, if i feel something needs to change for better performance of the team, i will give feedback and comments for them to adjust it if feasible. So far I believe my strategies are still effective and we cooperate pretty well with each other
