They celebrate with one another and with firecrackers and fireworks. Unlike us The Guatemalan children open their gifts on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, it is a rest day from all the celebrations of the month. On Christmas day, a typical dinner is full of roasted turkey, ponche de frutas, which is a hot fruit punch, and they also eat Guatemalan tamales, which are different because they are wrapped in banana leaves filled with corn dough.

In conclusion, Guatemala is a country that is very invested in all their holidays and how they celebrate them with all the traditions that they have. I also celebrate New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, and Christmas almost just like them. However, my celebrations do not involve parades or big statues being hauled around. On New Year's Eve, I celebrate with my family and friends. We watch fireworks and eat really good food like posole, tamales, and good sweets. On New Year's eve I party all night and do fireworks, but I do not wear new clothes, and normally I do not set new resolutions for myself. I have a lot in common with Guatemala and I wish that I could have traditions like how they do because they are all very invested in and enjoy all of their traditions.
