I did not realize how extensive these standards are for young children. While reading the standards I felt like you needed to be in high school to understand them. On the other hand, if you have children who have been surrounded by technology their entire life these standards would be appropriate.

In the standard about using technology to solve age appropriate problems I am in full support of. Especially when the child is capable of under standing so much more.

Integration Fine Arts for K-6th Grade

Fine arts is a genre that includes Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts. The funny thing is the nature of this subject is collaboration so in theory the integration of technology can be very easy if you are proficient in computer science.

I would use different apps such as shadow puppet, phone camera, editing programs. and smart boards can be used to create worlds and art.

Strictly speaking, social media apps such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are applications that allow people to stay connected with the outside world. But the biggest problem with social media is lack of protections for students access certain things.

Every mom and teacher can assess to the true wonders of Pinterest. You type in a subject and thousands of resources are available at the tips of their hands. It may be scary, but allowing children to explore Pinterest can increase their desire to know more of the truth which makes them eager to use technology in a purely educational way.

FaceTime and Messenger

I am incredibly excited to try and incorporate the FaceTime technology and Messenger FaceTime technology with my two year olds. I believe it is innovative to take the selfie technology from both of these devices and use it as mirrors for our two year olds to begin making observations about themselves since this is where they are at developmentally. Because this technology can act like a mirror, it allows us to get anecdotes in a unique way and it helps the children relate more to the teachers and makes them curious about more than just their own features. It also give them the opportunity to responsibly use technology to have fun.
