         <description><![CDATA[<div>A.&nbsp; because of labor shortages, legal provisions, and racial attitudes, slavery would become very popular, especially among the growing contingent of plantation owners, who required a large workforce to maintain their land.&nbsp;<br>B. domestic dispute, as abolitionists would start to emerge, causing a divide.<br>C. the divide between slave owners and abolitionists would cause much instability, eventually growing into the civil war.<br>D. Slaves were seen as less then human, even by the law as per the 3/5ths compromise. because of this, they were treated incredibly harshly.<br>E. this was not a positive event in U.S. history because it encouraged ideas of racism, savage and inhumane treatment  of Africans, and would lead to the civil war.</div>]]></description>
