I have so many memories, and will always have a fondness for this magnificent building in my heart. 😔 💔
I was on the prom committee as well as other dance committees, so I have many memories of decorating her walls with decorations, and the rafters with a huge parachute. I was a peer counselor, so I helped incoming freshmen, as well as fellow students register. I remember playing volleyball in PE, and the old locker rooms (especially while getting ready for after school sports). I remember sitting on the bleachers listening to Miss Meek, on my first day ever (of PE), in that building. I remember many a dance, a Jr. prom, Cardinal cutie (Homecoming) dances, Spring dances, hi jinx, walking up the concrete walkways, the old wooden bleachers, the band room upstairs where we band members played countless hours, and attended many night rehearsals for dance band. I remember running up (or down) the stairs that led to the band room, on Friday nights, during football season. I also remember looking out the old windows both at the top of the bleachers and in the band room. 
It was also nice just knowing both my Mom and Dad had been there in that building many years before me (Classes of 40 and 44). As well as my sisters (Classes 60 and 64). And there is one last memory of my friends and I preparing for our graduation in the bathroom downstairs. We were graduating with honors and had no idea how to attach the gold rope to our gowns! Thankfully my friend's sister, who had graduated with honors the year before, knew how to! She helped us put those on, and then we went on up the stairs one last time, and out to Jones Field for graduation.  
I am incredibly sad the building will now have to be razed. Thanks for so many fond memories "Girls Gym".

My Dad was on the gymnastics team and I think he also did gymnastics them in that gym . He was class of 1953, I graduated in 1973 20 years after he did.
I have so many memories of the Bryden gym. School dances hi jinx and of course those downstairs showers. As my girls got older indoor soccer games. My grandkids basket games. Required physical education resulted in building the gym. During this time, the land was acquired on which the industrial building now stands. The area was first used for tennis courts.
