The public, as of today, has no trace of her works, other than what friends and family have said of her work, and have missed out due to social conforms for women.

Busts of the great composers line the upper walls of the Musikverein, just below paintings of Apollo and the Muses, reminding us whom we have come to venerate."
                                    -Sara Haefeli
The Musikverein in Vienna holds titanic influence in the world of classical music from the artists that have conducted and/or performed in its great concert halls to the ornate beauty and acoustics that line the halls themselves. Just like how the Musikverein holds significance to musicologists, modern "temples" in America like CBGB, in New York, holds a place in history as the birthplace of punk rock, and artists like Debbie Harry, The Ramones, Talking Heads, The Dead Boys, and many many more got their start.

The movie, Amadeus (1984), strays from the common misconception that classical music is boring or uninteresting, and depicts not only the influence Mozart's music had on people during his own time, but the whimsy, personality, and genius behind the composer himself. I know the movie took artistic liberties in this scene, but Mozart, like any other composer, revised his works.

Classical music to me consists of a music style that is usually non-lyrical, not including opera, and has an orchestra of classically used instruments like those of wind, string, and percussion. The length of classical music is usually longer than most modern songs, and the composition of each piece of classical music pays careful attention to the almost story-like progression in each piece. This could be the crescendos and decrescendos that elevate the intensity or meaning of a certain part in the piece, or, even more general yet, the "confines" or structure that a composer must adhere to so that the individual might showcase the brilliance that comes from creating art in a societal, or period, set of boundaries. Much like that of a poem. On the UNT Campus, there is a faculty performance most Friday evenings that feature the works of classical canonic composers like Bach, Brahms, and Schubert. On the classical radio station in Denton, WRR 101.1, they play many Western canonic classical music like that of Mozart’s Piano Concerto #21 In C, to name a particular, if not recognizable, piece. Overall, the radio station plays many typical classical canon works and composers as well as others, and despite having ads in between, the experience is pleasant and aesthetically pleasing to hear.
