A&P and All Summer in a Day uses the theme of Prejudice.

In A&P, the theme of prejudice is evident in the protagonist, Sammy, judges the three girls who enter the store wearing bathing suits. Sammy initially sees the girls as objects of desire and amusement, but he later criticizes their appearance and behavior when they leave the store without making a purchase. The use of imagery is evident in the way Sammy describes the girls, such as when he compares their skin to smoothest milk. The story also features the character of Lengel, the store manager, who reinforces social norms and criticizes the girls for their outlook. The story presents the rigid societal expectations.

In All Summer in a Day, the theme of prejudice can be seen in the way the children treat Margot, the only student who remembers the sun. The other children bully and exclude Margot because of her difference in knowledge and experience. There is the use of personification when the rain is described as silver, which highlights the contrast between Margot's longing for the sun and the other children's enjoyment of the rain. The story features the character of William, who has the desire to fit in with the other children. The story explores the consequences of prejudice and the power of individualism.

In literary devices, the two stories use imagery. A&P uses metaphor to describe the girls as sheep and house slaves, it reinforces the theme of prejudice. All Summer in a Day uses simile to compare Margot's voice to a mouse, which highlights her vulnerability and isolation. Both stories also criticise for social norms and the consequences of prejudice.

"The Lottery" and "All Summer in a Day" both stories employ literary devices to highlight the characters' actions and their relationship to the theme of hope.

In the lottery,The character's actions in the story are driven by their hope of winning the lottery, which is believed to bring good luck . However, as the story progresses, it becomes clear that this hope is misplaced, and the lottery is actually a brutal and senseless act of violence. The characters' actions, including the selection of the lottery winner and the stoning of the chosen person, demonstrate how hope can be misguided and how the hope can be lost. Overall, the lottery is symbol as hope and being hyperbole that can bring luck.

On the other hand, in "All Summer in a Day," the literary device of imagery is used to convey the sense of longing and hope for something better. Venus, a planet where it rains constantly, except for a brief period of sunshine that occurs once every seven years. Margot has vivid memories of the sun from her time on Earth and longs to see it again. The other children in the story are jealous of Margot's past experience and bully her, hoping that the sunshine will not come so that she will not be proven right. However, when the sun finally does come out, the children's hope is rekindled, and they are filled with wonder and joy. At the same time Margot feels happy and hope when seeing the sun, so the sun is also symbol as hope.

The lottery and Harrison Bergeron uses the rebellion.

In The lottery, a boy have asked to repeal the lottery, because some others village had also repeal the lottery. So asked to repeal the lottery, but after an old man rejected rudely, the boy has done. The boy repeal failed.

In Harrison Bergeron, Harrison had rebel the government. There had many deeper meaning base on the lottery, the box and the old man. The rebellion is similar, but there have a different result.

Harrison Bergeron and A&P share a common theme of individualism.

In Harrison Bergeron, the government enforces complete equality by handicapping those who are above average in any way, whether it be physical strength, intelligence, or beauty. The protagonist, Harrison Bergeron, rebels against the oppressive system and seeks to break free from the constraints placed upon him.

In A&P, the protagonist, Sammy, challenges the conformity of his society by quitting his job at the grocery store after witnessing the mistreatment of three young women who are dressed unconventionally. In Harrison Bergeron, the image of Harrison's "spectacular crash to the floor" when his handicaps are removed, it emphasises the importance of embracing one's unique abilities and talents.

A summer in a day and Harrison Bergeron are both talking about prejudice or bias. Firstly, in all summer in a day, the behavior of the other children towards Margot reflects a form of prejudice or bias. For example, as the situation stated on the story," the biggest crime of all was that she had come here only five years ago from Earth" it illustrated the situation of Margot been bullied and imply the others are envious of her because she has experienced something that they have not, and they get jealous of it. As a result, they treat her bad and let her miss the chance of witnessing the sun. The story highlights the dangers of prejudice and the negative effect of treating others unfairly due to differences in experience, knowledge, or background.
At the same time, Harrison Bergeron talked about the harm of bias too. Harrison Bergeron is too strong and way better than the average. In light of this, he ahd to wear lot of handicappers. According to the story, " the rest of Harrison's apperence was halloween and hardware" It reveals that his body is full of handicappers seems like custome of Halloween. It is unfair to Harrison and he think he dont deserves these. Then, he kind of force to break the jail and pursure the freedom. Since breaking the jail, he have been kiiled. This is talking about the harm of bias.

Two tales that explore the darker facets of human nature are "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson and "Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury. The themes of child abuse and the effects of group dynamics are explored in "Summer in a Day," whereas the themes of blind tradition-following and the influence of conformity are explored in "The Lottery." So, for the story of "Summer in a Day"by Ray Bradbury, the theme is "Cruelty"; and for "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson, the suitable theme is"Tradition"

In order to establish atmosphere and tension in their respective settings, both tales make use of vivid imagery. Although Jackson and Bradbury use various methods and styles to express their themes, each tale has a profound effect on the reader. Both tales ultimately serve as cautionary tales, reminding us of the repercussions of our choices and the perils of heedlessly going along with the herd.
