1: The purpose of this activity was give us more information on the sensitivity of the censors throughout our body and provide us with example situations where the sensory system works at its finest to keep us alive and preform in highly demanding activities.
2: In this activity we went over information covered in chapter 4 of our textbook. It relates to what we did in class because it goes into depth on the sensations we discussed in class. in class we talked about how some systems worked while also talking a lot about what it is like if some of our senses didn't work properly. for example we talked about what it would be like if we could not simply sit in a chair without having to hold onto it the entire time, like if we did not have the censors transferring information to our brains fast enough.
3: Between watching these videos and what we learned in class I have learned a significant amount about the bodies ability to feel and what lengths it will go to to keep our bodies alive when in extreme situations. I've also learned a lot about what happens if these sensory systems are not working properly and the effects it can have on the bodies and how it effects the way a person must live their life.

1: Before watching this video I was unaware that the micro censers that allow us to feel were as sensitive as they explained in the video saying they can pick up the slightest touch for example a single stroke of a fly's wing, knowing this I know understand the incredible ability that the body has, and feel like now I want to test and see how in tuned my personal sensors are.
2: In the video I also learned that there is a layer of fat surrounds key nerves which keeps them from interfering with other nerves letting them flow at a rate of 250 MPH, My question is what would happen if this layer of fat was not present? I understand that it would probably slow them down but would it slow them to the point that it would have a major effect on our ability to feel things and react to them? If I were asked to answer this knowing just what I learned from this video I would probably say it would but this would compel me to want to research it further.

1: Before watching this video I was not aware that the censors below our skin are not evenly spaced. I learned that the censors in our hands, feet and mouth are the most sensitive because they are packed in extreme amounts in these places for example we have about 4000 censors in each hand. I also learned that there are different censors that tell us something is hot or cold and that a majority of these heat censors are on our hands, nose, and surprisingly our elbows. knowing this information I feel that it know makes sense that we have more censors in vital positions because how often do we walk around and say "oh i wonder what that feels like, let me rub the back of my leg on it and find out."
2: This video also taught me about the bodies ability to produce sweat and the importance of it. The video taught me that as our skin heats up our bodies take the water that is in our red blood cells and squeezes it through sweat glands positioned throughout the body. i also learned that as the body get extremely dehydrated it stops sweat production and focuses on getting water to vital organs to keep you alive in extreme situations. Knowing this information now i see the importance of keeping hydrated especially if i plan on doing any activity that involves extreme excretion.
