Winston is writing about his experience with a prostitute in his journal. He is disgusted of the prostitute. It reminded him of his wife who forced him to have sex because it was their duty to the party. Family’s are having baby’s for Big Brother.

The passage shows how The party only wants the people to have babies for them. 

He wants to someone to love and not have babies for the party.
