Stop placing pressure on single examinations which can be worth a significant percentage. More formative work should be used to assess or have smaller assessment tasks to provide more variety/interest and allow teachers to provide more regular/targeted feedback. Also provides students with more opportunity to demonstrate their learning. 

Less lecture style lessons and refrain from spending too much time speaking to students.
