Many models or approaches to nursing look at the patient as a whole person rather than simply an illness or injury. This approach, called a holistic or humanistic approach, helps foster mental and emotional health in addition to physical health. Humanism in Nursing, can be simply understood as the act of understanding and treating the human being as a person, in other words, "to treat the other as you want to be treated". From this perspective, we must remember that when we decide to be nurses, we thought to help, care and support others. So humanism is inherent to our nature and in this sense our career is born by the person we are. the important thing for patient is to have an affective environment, being surrounded by people who love him, to have the freedom that allows him to make decisions; to be comfortable in a physical and mental way and to find himself in a stimulating environment for the senses. It is necessary to take the appropriate time to give care with contact and communication, to listen to the questions, to always observe the non-verbal communication, to have honest communication; to provide positive techniques trough a smile, through eye contact, by touching their arms, shoulders or hands, to actively explain and listen and/or to keep silence. Our communication must contain empathy, respect, authenticity.

As primarily nursing is all about giving care so it is important to treat the patients as you want to be treated and take care of the moral and ethical values of every patient. As nursing is considered a noble profession because the core and essence of nursing is humanism. As a nurse, we need to give respect and dignity to the patients. As we know that they are at their weakest point so during care we need to be compassionate and show some empathy towards them. Along with these, therapeutic Communication also plays a vital role in nursing care because of its positive impact on patient care. Furthermore, humanistic attributes also motivate the patient positively by giving hope to heal faster. In the clinical setting, I have observed that Patients are more likely to adhere to their medical orders just because of the humanistic behavior of a nurse and ultimately help in the promotion of physical and mental wellbeing.Lastly, humanistic attributes mainly focus on patient-centered care and help in the promotion of patient health so it is very important for us to follow these attributes to give quality care to the patients.

Via this approach health care provider provides a holistic care to client. Healing not depends on just medicine and surgeries it covers whole other needs of oneself. Like spiritual, social, personal, basic needs. These all needs are irreplaceable. Every need should be fulfilled in order to heal oneself from ailments.

Faahima Hayat:) Humanism stresses the importance of human values and dignity. It proposes that people can resolve problems through the use of science and reason. Rather than looking to religious traditions, humanism instead focuses on helping people live well, achieve personal growth, and make the world a better place. Therefore, it is important in nursing care also to give patient a holistic care.
