Topic: There is a long running historical debate about the purpose and intent of art and literature. The two sides of the argument are that:

1. Art can be created for art’s sake without a responsibility to one’s community.

2. Art should be created for function, as a responsibility to one’s community. The belief here is that an artist should inspire others through political, social, and economic struggle.

Discussion: Which side do you agree with and why? Which side do you think Beyonce' agrees with based on the album?

I think that art can get the best of both worlds because if a non-artist makes art just for fun or because they're bored thats just them doing that , but if a actual artist like Beyonce makes art it should give us power and information. I once heard from a book that the art of today gives people understanding. I agree with this statement. On the other hand beyonce could have just done the albulm just to tell the world how she feels without wanting to influence anybodys descisions.

I agree with both of the sides because if you are an artist or non-artist you can still make very meaningful art that can inspire people or you can make art that is just for fun and that is just a drawing that you liked. I think Beyonce agrees with side #2 because in her album she is expressing a lot of her feelings that she kept inside and she also wrote the album to inspire others with her music.

I agree on both sides and Beyoncé might’ve thought it’s important and impactful based on the album it reveals a lot of mood/tone that Beyoncé Expressed throughout she breaks down in the songs in literature she’s trying to state her point or be heard behind closed doors you might not know everything but he album says it for her

I think that people can make art both ways. Art doesn't have to be shared or made with a purpose all the time. If people feel the need to inspire then, that's good. If people don't need to be inspired that's okay too.
I think Beyonce's Lemonade album is definitely made with a purpose. So, Choice 2.

I agree with both sides. For the first side, you can make art and it can mean nothing in your point of view, but if another person sees your art, it can mean something really deep. On the other hand, art can be used to inspire anybody that thinks it can be inspirational to them. I believe Beyonce agrees with the second side of the argument because she uses a lot of figurative language in all of her songs in her album Lemonade.
