Orchestras are classically refined and known for playing Western Musical canon pieces. I chose to look into the Juneau Symphony in Alaska and the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra as my main point of focus. The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra (BRSO) typically plays classical pieces, as is shown by their "Bach-tober" fest. However, they do occasionally step out of the norms in the sense that they have nontraditional venues. This Bachtoberfest, they are performing at the Capital Park Museum. The Juneau Symphony is great at combining modern classical music and works of western musical canon. The Juneau Symphony performs pieces that are still classical, but untraditional, such as their tribute to James Bond. I would love to see the Juneau Symphony's performance of "Shaken Not Stirred: The Music of James Bond". I have always liked the instrumental pieces of the James Bond movies, it would be great to hear them live.
