My role in this process will be to provide you with diverse groups. Groups will be small in number ideally 3-4 students. If issues arise within your small groups, I ask that you reach out to me immediately so that I may become involved when a student is not participating.

My goal for you this term is to shift from being a "group" to being a "team". In this two week group project, I ask that you will critically analyze a case study, and respond to the questions posed with an integration of your perspective and experiences, backed up by our readings.

What is expected: I expect that the Case Study Analysis will be a cohesive document, where I can see that you've discussed the various options and possibilities, and form your opinions into a thorough and unanimous analysis. Not to state that I want you going to Abilene, and if you find you don't agree after thoughtful discussion, then provide several perspectives for your response to that question/s.

What is not expected: Individuals to take on seperate questions, and then one member through it all together into one document.

Team Charter

Your team Charter will be due in Week 5. The purpose of developing a charter is so that you as a group come together in agreement in the roles and responsibilities of your group members. You are to actively discuss your teams purpose and mission, what you hope to accomplish, set some ground rules, and to determine any risks and assumptions that may arise. It will also be important to discuss how you will manage agreement. Note that I didn't state "manage conflict" yet stated 'agreement". Within small group projects, it is easy to find ourselves agreeing with anything that another individual states just to get the project done and over with. Yet what are you accomplishing by this? What if that individual is not correct in their analysis, and/or what if their thoughts on how to proceed makes the project more difficult? Voice your opinion! Every opinion is valid and counted. I want you to all push yourselves outside your comfort zones to contribute at least 3 good ideas every time your group meets. In fact, have your ideas written down and posted in the groups discussion, so that all can reflect upon it prior to discussing it first hand.

You will be graded on several aspects for your Group Project.
The first being your Charter agreement and ensuring all components are present there are detailed.

The second being your Case Study Analysis that you developed with your group.

The third being an individual grade after I've read and reviewed the Partner and Self Evaluation Assessments. You will receive an individual grade on your participation with your group here.

Ask yourself:

Did you provide new perspectives and ideas every time that you and your group came together to discuss the case study questions?

What role did you play in helping your group meet your mission and objectives?
