SUMMARY:  Lena Rivers was written in 1856. Lena is not the typical heroine of the 19th century. She has spunk and a temper. She is beautiful and there are tears and laughs in her story. The supporting characters give this book a lot of humor. Grandma Nichols is the ultimate redneck. If you must have political correctness in your books then this book is not for you. I can't understand why this book is so famous. I finished this book because I wanted to know what happend at the end.
I think that is a book which reflect the submision of the woman. Annd I think it is worst that lots of women like it.
My personal opinion is that this book was wrotten to housewifes and teenagers. I can't believe it how this book became famous and I believe we have a big problem in our society.
