Soil degradation: The loss of fertility in soil, due to chemical in fertiliser, or being compacted by hooves and machinery

Soil erosion: Gradual wearing of soil worn away by rivers, rain, waves, glaciers, and the wind. Cleared land is more vulnerable to types of erosion.

Ecosystem decline: Loss of natural ecosystems caused by loss of vegetation, foreign invaders, and water quality. Can lead to desertification.
