Enola Holmes is a mystery and an adventure film, created by Warner Bros and distributed by Netflix in September 2020. It is directed by Harry Bradbeer and it stars Millie Bobby Brown, who is famous for the series “Stranger Things”. This film is set in Victorian England and it is based on a series of six books written by Nancy Springer.

 

It tells the story of a 16 year old woman, who is the youngest child in her family, the Holmes. Her father died when she was a little girl and her brothers, Sherlock and Mycroft, left home after his death. She was brought up by her mother. Her education was unusual for a girl of that time when Queen Victoria was the queen of England. She learned science, history, martial arts, tennis and chess.

 

The story begins on her sixteenth birthday when he wakes up and discovers that her mother has disappeared. As a result of this, her brothers have to come back home. Mycroft decides to send her to a boarding school for girls because he thinks she doesn’t have good manners.

She doesn’t want to live in a boarding school, so she escapes and goes to London to solve the mysterious disappearance of her mother. On the way to London, she meets Lord Tewkesbury, who becomes an important character in this story. 

The film reaches a dramatic climax when Enola and Lord Tewkesbury fight against someone who plans to kill him.

This is a very well-directed film. It is interesting to see how Enola talks to the people watching the film. That is really creative and appealing. 

 

In my opinion, I think this is a highly entertaining film. It is full of adventure, drama and humor. The main characters are young and daring. Besides, I think that Millie Bobby Brown is a talented actress, although she is quite young and she doesn´t have much experience in the film industry. 

I would recommend this film to everybody, especially to families that like watching films at home. 

 

I would rate this film a nine on a scale of one to ten, just because it focuses on Lord Tewkesbury rather than the disappearance of her mother, the starting point of this story.

In chronological sequence, the trilogy begins, set in Italy, with a young Vito Corleone, escaping by a mafia who wanted to assassinate him, arriving to the United States where he begins to be recognized in the streets of New York as the head of the neighborhood and because of this, the family Corleone is formed. They possess great power, however throughout the years they begin to have problems with different mafias and the drug industry, which causes Vito's youngest son, Michel Corleone, to become head of the Corleone family. This promotion causes Michel to start making decisions which cause many conflicts and very hard decisions, his whole life as a boss ends up exhausting Michel and making him overwhelmed by his decisions, therefore he wants to get out of that world. 

The cast in these films are one of the highest standards. Some magnificent performances were by Marlon Brando, Oscar winner; Al Pacino, with a jump to fame with this film; Robert De Niro, also an Oscar winner due to his role in this film, among many others.

This great saga gives a lot to talk about, exciting a viewer to the point of not wanting to stop saying great things about it. This trilogy is recommended for people who like a good story with drama and gangster themes, which can make it violent from time to time. This trilogy is definitely a 10 out of 10.

The shape of water is a fictional romance movie directed by Guillermo del Toro, that has set on the period of the cold war, in 1962. The film tells the story of Elisa Esposito, interpret by Sally Hawkins, a mute woman who works cleaning in a secret laboratory on Baltimore, America. One day bring to the laboratory a strange amphibious creature, interpreted by Doug Jones, with the objective to investigate his properties. As the time passes Elisa and the creature forge a special link that has turn in love, but it´s threatened because the creature has end day at the lab. For that, Elisa decided to take him away to take care of him, but doesn´t be too easy to hide it forever, so she has a hard decision to make, and a hardly execute of that.

In my opinion it´s a great story, because takes the common storyline of the woman who fall in love with a man, which love is impossible, and put into uncommon characters to the story and place it in epoch with conflicts, who adds a interesting story to follow. Elisa falls in love with the amphibious, a creature that´s doesn´t speak and she doesn´t talk and he isn´t even a human, but these love happen. Also, the setting of the film and the secondary characters adds a plus to the main core of the movie, without the help of Elisa´s friends, Zelda and Giles, the character of Elisa doesn´t be the same, she doesn´t had taken away the creature alone, she doesn´t had to communicate or express her feelings to the other people and us, the audience, without the help of Zelda and Giles.

I recommend see this movie to everyone who likes the fantasy stories or just like to see a different kind of movie, because this is like a unique film with interesting characters and the core has something special for the personality of his characters and the feelings that the movie transmits you. I would rate this film a ten on a scale of one to ten.
