This kinder (in red) Maestra Nino's class, has embraced the First/Then strategy we are teaching Zeus and says, "I can help Zeus. 'Zeus, FIRST you color the picture green, THEN you can use the calculator.'" To me this represents Advocacy, red shirt child, recognizes that Zeus learns differently and has jumped in to aid his peer.

As part of her upcoming Bat Mitzvah this fall, Emory Brown is leading a mitzvah project to support people experiencing homelessness in Albuquerque by creating Hope Bags filled with essential items. To make this possible, she is asking for financial contributions, which will be used to purchase supplies for the bags. Every donation helps bring comfort and dignity to someone in need. Sol made an elderly friend at a community event. The women wanted apples, but wasn't able to pick them herself. Sol volunteered to pick apples for her and helped walk her out of the orchard afterwards.

Isla participated in the jog-a-thon to raise money for the middle schoolers international trip. She went to multiple family members in person to ask them to donate. She also mailed thank you notes to everyone who sponsored her.

Brynn Groves picks up trash that blows into their yard keeping the outside looking nice and presentable to those driving by their home. She is also being a role model for the other families in her neighborhood to keep their properties looking nice as well.

Aviana participated in weeks of preparation to gain knowledge on construction workers prior to presenting to her classmates. She read books, crafted her own construction helmet & vest & also witnessed a neighbor's house under construction (added a room to her house).

Ella dedicates much of her free time to the arts. As a focused ballet dancer, she works steadily toward her own growth while also giving back to her dance community. She volunteers with the youngest of dancers, encouraging their confidence and helping them discover their own love of ballet.

Austyn spent part of her Monday evening helping her mom’s work package “Snack Packs” that are supplied to APS students facing food insecurity.

Each bag includes Mac and Cheese, Ramen, protein bar, granola bar, peanut butter or cheese crackers, applesauce, madarin orange or peach fruit cups, fruit snacks, Goldfish, mixed nuts, plastic utensils and words of encouragement.

Austyn enthusiastically went around and around each table packaging ziploc bag after ziploc bag with each item.
