This website talks about unemployment rates in Canada and how Canada has the lowest rates in about forty years. In this website you will see a graph associated with unemployment rates. Unemployment has fallen down to 5.7% which means that Canada's economy is growing and doing very well.  Mostly full time jobs have been added, with some part time jobs.  
When unemployment rates go down, interest rates go up.  The Bank of Canada increased its interest rates earlier this year. This website touches base on how the unemployment rate in other countries is higher than the unemployment rate in Canada.  This website talks about how Canada is currently  dealing with several different problems and cannot lower their unemployment rates. One of the problems is that the eastern provinces are performing poorly. This video talks about students who graduate from different college programs. It talks about the programs in college that have the highest unemployment rates and the lowest unemployment rates. Students graduating from a psychology program have less chances of getting a job.Other programs to avoid are architecture and library science. A good college program is pharmacology.

Unemployment can contribute to depression. Unemployment is not just an economic problem it is also a psychological problem. People can afford less, they can feel isolated and worthless.

This topic is relevant and interesting to me because my mother is currently looking for work.  I can tell her that Canada has a lower unemployment rate than the U.S. and that she more likely to find work here than in the U.S. It takes time and sometimes it can be difficult but having a positive attitude can make you a better individual.  Feeling depressed is common among unemployed workers, and this study helps me understand how she might feel.

The research I found most interesting was Video #1 because it expressed a student’s point of view of how unemployment affected this individual.  It talked about how people have reacted to changes in unemployment rates.
