After his apprenticeship in Perugia, Raphael moved to Florence to continue his pursuit of art. during this time period of his life is when he made majority of his famous "Madona and Child" paintings. While Raphael already proved his skill as an artist in the early ages of his career, he really showed just how impressive and productive of an artist he was. In the 4 years he was in Florence, he made an amazing amount of paintings, an insane amount of painting for his era. this was due to his different approach to practice. While other artists saw roadblocks in their painting to be a problem that had to be solved with a large amount of equations and trial and era, Raphael instead saw it as something he had to prepare for in advance with sketches and small, un time consuming studies. Final Years in Rome

Raphael continued to lead a successful career as an artist. So much so that he caught the attention of the Pope, Julius II who personally hired him to decorate rooms in the Vatican papal apartments where the Pope himself lived. The Pope also asked for Raphael to personally decorate the the Stanza della Segnatura, where his famous "School of Athens" lives. He continued to make many other artworks for the church until the end of his short life when he died in 1520. Raphael Sanzio is responsible behind some of the most famous renaissance works. inspire by the great artists like Leonardo and Michelangelo, He was able to make pieces refreshing to the time period. His art is known across the globe and is still looked back on today to understand the concepts of painting and the humanistic philosophy. He was also one of the first to actually practice his skills and tackle his struggles with simpler sketches opposed to the more popular way of facing the problem head on in one big painting. Raphael made a total of thirty four Mondana and childs in his lifetime, an impressive amount of painting for one man.
