There has, however, been one major change for me/us. January,2017 I came out to the world as transgender and changed my name from Theresa to Jason and began my legal, social, and medical transition. It is for this reason I really wanted to make our reunion and introduce many of you to the new me.  I'm in a local musical this weekend and it's local pride as well so I can only MAYBE drop in quickly.
I spent 12+ years teaching music and band before leaving to do more work in LGBTQIA advocacy and speaking, which led to my new and amazing career in peer support. I work with trans people of all ages and assist with their mental health and transition goals. My greatest accomplishments in these past twenty years include marrying a clever and handsome man (!) who was born in the USSR, writing a couple novels I will never make public, and getting a short story about someone growing up and leaving their small hometown published in SCAD's yearly lit journal before dropping out with a 3.3 GPA. I also studied bodywork therapy and Japanese, neither of which I apply very practically now. I have lived in the San Jose area, CA, in Savannah, GA, in Sacramento, CA, and am presently in PA, about an hour north of Pittsburgh. It's like Menomonie but smaller and with bigger hills.

The photo of Vlad and me is from 2014 -- we don't do photos often, and someone is usually blinking -- but the shot of our beautiful cat children is quite recent (and also contains Vlad, hiding near the shrubs).

I shall not be in attendance but hope you all have a marvelous time.

We moved back to Menomonie almost 8 years ago from Rochester, MN. Our girls keep us pretty busy with their dance and soccer activities, but in our free time we enjoy camping, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
