1. Choose a Pattern and Fabric

• Pattern: Start with simple geometric patterns, such as squares or rectangles.​

• Fabric: Choose high-quality cotton fabric for easy cutting and sewing.​

2. Prepare Tools

• Cutting Tools: Rotary cutter, scissors, and fabric ruler.​

• Sewing Tools: Sewing machine or hand sewing needles, quality cotton thread.​

• Others: Iron, ironing board, and pins.​

3. Cut Fabric

Accurately cut fabric pieces according to the chosen pattern, ensuring consistent sizes.​

4. Piece Fabric Blocks

Sew the cut fabric pieces together following the design, using a 1/4-inch seam allowance, and press seams as you go.​

5. Assemble the Quilt Top

Combine the pieced blocks to form the quilt top, ensuring proper alignment.​

6. Batting and Backing

Select appropriate batting material and backing fabric, usually slightly larger than the quilt top.​

7. Layer the Quilt

Lay the backing fabric flat, place the batting on top, and then the quilt top, ensuring all layers are smooth and wrinkle-free.​

8. Baste the Layers

Use pins or temporary spray adhesive to secure the three layers, preventing shifting.​

9. Quilting

Choose straight-line or free-motion quilting patterns to stitch the three layers together securely.​

10. Binding

Add binding to the quilt edges to ensure a neat and durable finish.​
