Back by popular demand! I am reaching out to bring you an incredible 5-day Remote Work Experience placement, with Mondelēz International! The company who brings you iconic global brands such as Cadbury Dairy Milk, Oreo, Ritz, Belvita, Hu Kitchen and Philadelphia, to name a few!

With a prize for the best product and presentation at the end of the week.

We have proudly worked with Mondelēz for a number of years, continually developing this placement to ensure young people take the absolute most away from it. We have had unbelievable feedback from students and educators on how valuable, engaging, and enjoyable this placement has been, and don’t want your students to miss out this year.

The placement will take place in the summer term, but due to its historical success and popularity we are opening the placement for applications now, so students can have every opportunity to apply!  Please encourage students to apply as soon as possible!

This will cover the application process specifically for Wedlake Bell, with hints and tips from the team, but will also be applicable for any firm students may be applying for. There will be an opportunity to speak with their current apprentices, as well as members of the recruitment team. If students are considering applying for a solicitor degree apprenticeship, we strongly recommend they attend this webinar before submitting their application in order to give themselves the best chance of success! One of the apprentices who was successfully recruited this year attended the application webinar and used the guidance provided to strengthen their application

A&O Shearman's Smart Start Experience 2026 is coming soon!

I'm very pleased to be getting in touch to let you know that A&O Shearman's Smart Start Experience is returning for 2026. Applications are opening in January, so we're getting in touch now so that you can plan ahead!

In partnership with A&O Shearman (international magic circle law firm), we are running two programmes in 2026 that we are inviting your Year 12 students to apply for:

1. Smart Start Week: a unique work experience week hosted at A&O Shearman’s Central London offices in July 2026

2. Smart Applications: a virtual work-related learning programme running across eight evening webinars in May and June 2026 – the programmes will be incredible opportunities for all participants, and we’d love for your students to take part.

Ahead of these two opportunities, the programmes launch with an online opening event, Smart Choices, which will be taking place online in February and March 2026. More information about these webinars is available on our website.

Registrations will be opening in early 2026, so I’ll be in touch again in January with full details and links for student registration - but please reply to this email if you are interested so we can give you priority access (these programmes are often oversubscribed). 

All Year 12 students are eligible to participate in these programmes, regardless of which subjects they’re studying or their preferred career options. However, we would suggest that the opportunities are particularly suited to students that are interested in careers in Law, Business, Finance or Professional Services.

We are also keen this year to invite students who may be unsure about their next step, finding it difficult to stay engaged with school or college or who would benefit from extra support to explore new opportunities. A&O Shearman believes that everyone deserves a chance to grow and reach their full potential, and are committed to supporting young people on this journey.

Students will work together on some tasks such as negotiation activities and group presentations, as well as network and meet members of the ABF in house legal team.

WFW is an international law firm hosting a three-day in person insight programme on Tuesday 14th July 2026 - Thursday 16th July 2026 at the WFW office in London (15 Appold St, London, EC2A 2HB). The schedule of the three days will vary from group activities, workshops, mock interviews, networking with WFW staff and considering future career options within a law firm, including solicitors and professional roles.

I just wanted to share some exciting upcoming opportunities that are employer partners are offering around London that your students can apply to.

• Lloyds Banking group - a 2 Year Level 4 Digital Product Manager apprenticeship aimed at Year 13 leavers, which starts in September. Students will be able to gain hands-on experience designing digital products while earning a salary and a Level 4 qualification. Closing date: 2nd April.

• Met police - A Degree apprenticeship scheme remains open for applications. Students will be able to gain experience and get a free (BSc) Hons degree in professional policing practice. Closing date: apply ASAP.

• Buzzacott - There are roles in corporate and charity audit, plus accounting associate apprenticeships still available for September starts. You can find the apprenticeships available by clicking 'View apprenticeships' on the Buzzacott's Employer profile, which I've linked here. Closing dates: apply ASAP.

• Orbis investment - they have one accountancy apprenticeship available. Closing date: 30th April.

• Royal Ballet & Opera - There are currently 2 live apprenticeships - Backstage technician apprenticeships (closing date 23/3/26) and Archive assistant apprenticeship (closing date 06/04/26).

Please do share these with any students that are interested in these sectors and might not have made plans for next year yet.

Is an Apprenticeship right for you?

White & Case London Solicitor Apprenticeship Programme 2027, ‘Launch into Law’, is targeted at passionate students who would be interested in joining the apprenticeship programme in September 2027. The aim of the Launch into Law programme is to provide apprentices with the skills they need to become the future lawyers of White & Case. You can expect:

• A 6-year degree solicitor apprenticeship programme leading to qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales.

• To earn a competitive salary while studying for a degree (LLB (Hons) Legal Practice Skills) and the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE) with no tuition fees.

• A starting salary of £32,000 in the first year, £1000 set-up bonus and employee benefits.

• Experience and skills development, and exposure to industry professionals.

• On completion of the Apprenticeship, to be in the same position as someone who has followed the Training contract route.

PowerUp Fest 2026 is a free, in-person law careers festival taking place in London on Monday 27 July 2026, bringing together leading law firms, barristers' chambers, recruiters, and legal professionals for a day of career insight, inspiration, and networking.

This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain a realistic understanding of the legal sector and learn about the different pathways available, including apprenticeships, internships, and graduate routes.

Students will have the opportunity to:

✔ Learn about legal career pathways, apprenticeships, internships, and training contracts

✔ Develop their understanding of the skills employers look for in future legal professionals

This programme provides students with the opportunity to explore contemporary social issues, receive mentorship from university students and professionals, and produce an independent research project for the chance to win a range of prizes.

We're looking for students who are curious about the world around them, eager to explore social issues, and interested in developing their research, communication, and leadership skills alongside like-minded peers.

Eligibility:

• Open to current Year 12 students
