Bahrain is like it in its splendid beauty and calmness, therefore it has been called the pearl of the Gulf. Life in Bahrain now differ than 100 years ago, original citizens used to wear Jalabayas ,Thobes, but now mostly wear T- shirts, jeans or suits, they used to eat traditional food but now they enjoy fast food meals.

The country than known as the one million plam trees is till attractive to tourists and they can enjoy visiting amazing places such as The Gold City, the National Museum, Bahrain Fort, Arad Fort, Barbar Temple and Al-Khamis Mosque, they can also visit Al Areen Park Wildlife and enjoy feeding animals and taking photos.

The treasure that is Bahrain.

Bahrain, a small island roughly 765.3 km² located in the Arabian gulf, it is an Arabic, Muslim country with a population of a whopping 1.7 million people!

Bahrain had 3 previous names, first Delmon, then Taylus and then Awal, it’s ancient civilization relied on trade as Bahrain’s geography made it an important trading point, people back then lived off the plenty of fish and palm trees in the pearl of the gulf that is bahrain.

The most known celebration of Bahrain is Bahrain’s independence day from the British, where people wear traditional clothes, hang Bahrain flags and many school make competitions regarding this special day!

Bahrain used to be more focused on fishing, now it’s more of an agriculture based economy which livestock like chicken taking part in most meals, the clothes here are mainly light coloured and made out of thin material/reflective as we rarely get cold winters, the Bahraini dinar is the currency of Bahrain.

One of the many known historical places in Bahrain is the fort of Bahrain, being seemingly small it is very huge when you actually get to visit it, it’s taken care of, as the place is 3000 years old!

Bahrain has a special place in my heart, it is my country and it remains to be not only the pearl of the gulf, but the pearl of my heart aswell.

In the first century AD, Bahrain was called "Tylos" by the Greeks when Nearchus came to discover it, in implementation of the order of Alexander the Great. Tylos was the center of the pearl trade. While the island of Bahrain was called "Tylos", the island of Muharraq was called "Arados". It is worth noting that the city of Arad, located in the Muharraq Governorate, now takes its name from that name. There are many Bahrain’s traditional events like: alnasfa in the month of Shaban in the Arab calendar, also Eid al-Fitr after Ramadan and Eid al-Adha in the month of Dhul-Hijjah.  From the Bahraini heritage in food, there are many delicious foods like: Al-Tharid, hares, Bahraini Kebab, Balalet, luqaimat,  Magbos.  The currency of Bahrain it’s a  Bahraini Dinar BD, There are many places for tourism in Bahrain, such as hotels, beautiful beaches, various restaurants. Bahrain celebrates its National Day on December 16th to 17th of each year. Bahraini people celebrated many other traditional events such as Eid al fitr, Eid al-adha and Qirqaoun. Most popular traditional dishes in Bahrain are: Balaleet, Kabab, biryani and harees. Bahrain has its own unique style of traditional clothing. Men wear “Thob” which is a long white dress and “Ghitra”, while women wear brightly colored dresses called “Thob Al-nashel” and “Abaya”. The dinar is the currency of Bahrain.

Bahrain is situated between Qatar and the northeastern coast of Saudi Arabia, to which it is connected by the King Fahd Causeway. According to the 2020 census, the country's population numbers 1,501,635, of which 712,362 are Bahraini nationals.[] Bahrain spans some 760 square kilometres (290 sq mi)and is the third-smallest nation in Asia after the Maldives and Singapore.The capital and largest city is Manama.Bahrain is the site of the ancient Dilmun civilization.[] It has been famed since antiquity for its pearl fisheries, which were considered the best in the world into the 19th century. Bahrain was one of the earliest areas to be influenced by Islam, during the lifetime of Muhammad in 628 CE. Following a period of Arab rule, Bahrain was ruled by the Portuguese Empire from 1521 until 1602, when they were expelled by Shah Abbas I of the Safavid dynasty. In 1783, the Bani Utbah clan captured Bahrain from Nasr Al-Madhkur and it has since been ruled by the Al Khalifa royal family, with Ahmed al Fateh as Bahrain's first hakim.In the late 1800s, following successive treaties with the British, Bahrain became a protectorate of the United Kingdom.[17] In 1971, it declared independence. Formerly an emirate, Bahrain was declared an Islamic constitutional monarchy in 2002. In 2011, the country experienced protests inspired by the regional Arab Spring.[18] Bahrain's ruling Al Khalifa royal family has been criticised for violating the human rights of groups including dissidents, political opposition figures, and its majority Shia Muslim population.[19]Bahrain developed the first post-oil economy in the Persian Gulf,[20] the result of decades of investing in the banking and tourism sectors; many of the world's largest financial institutions have a presence in the country's capital. My name is Jaffar Moosa Jaffar Al-Shaikh, I'm in class 2/5. I will talk about my lovely country. Bahrain is located in the Persian Gulf in southwest Asia. Dilmun was an ancient civilization on the island of Bahrain. The Sumerians knew it as the land of paradise and the land of immortality and life. One of the most important festivals is the Gerqaoon, where children wear traditional clothes such as thobe al-nashal and the bisht, and sing beautiful songs. Harees and halawa are Bahraini foods. There are also many historical places such as Bait Al-Quran and Al-Khamis Mosque. The thing I love most about Bahrain is its great history.
