Active Learning is an important technique of learning because it allows an hands on approach to learning, as you can learn from role playing and projects that allow you to think critically and engage in problem solving. I've seen Active learning being done well with using an example from in this class as we use the flip-grams for assignments creating videos depicting our experiences. With this we were able to see emotion and got a connection from our peers and interact which can be hard to see from reading dialog. Another great example of this are field trips as you get to interact with environments in certain field studies and understand. However with field trips and other active learning techniques, monitoring can be a huge problem and slow down they learning.

What if learning happened by using passed experiences and creating your own knowledge from those passed experiences. An example of this being used in a positive way will be discussion boards. All professors mainly use discussions board to allow students to critically think and engage in meaningful conversation with peers through asking and answering questions, connecting passed connections and knowledge with new concepts and themes that goes around, while also allowing students to share in a more comfortable way if not use to public speaking. I have seen this be used well in pack-back, a website used in Cultural Anthropology. The only negative would be that their are no right or wrong answers which makes it hard to grasp new concepts and brings challenges in new forms of thinking.

School is mostly an independent learning environment, however a lot can come from co-operative work as students learn from each other building bonds, and connections that can make learning creative and fun in so many ways. An example of this is group projects and presentations as it allows students to work together and create fun, meaningful works of art as you learn from peers new ideas to make everlasting experiences. My faviorte memory of this would be a group project we did over the school system and how to over come problems that oocur in the classroom setting. It was a lot of creative ideas and it was overall fun. The only problem with group project would be that you still have to rely on the jobs to get done individually so you can do your best, nut you do not know how you the rest of the group holds up.

Authentic (Complex/Contextual)

Authentic learning is one that I am not really a fan of as yes we learn the concepts and we learn equations and how to solve problems, but then their is a question that always arises that many students tend to ask even me at times. How does this apply in the real world. A bad example of this would be when I took science in high school, as we learned in physics how to solve these equations but never understood how would we use and solve these equations in a real life setting. This made it really boring and not as in engaging as we never say the point. A meaningful experience would be this IDT class as it showed step by step how to put together a portfolio and the uses of it that we can see results and continue to update and grow your portfolio

Intentional (Goal-directed/Regulatory)

Intentional learning can be fun and competitive at the same time as teachers can make incentives and awards available after completing task and assignments. This a positive and negative thing however. The good of this as it makes a more driven and hardworking approach to learning as you want to get the right answer to accomplish goals and things I remember this by playing educational games with the rewards of now homework assignments, candy, pizza parties and ect. The down side to this is that it makes the other students who does not do so well to feel as a failure and unaccomplished which is not the case at all.
