I joined the workshop in August 2023. After the workshop I still had many clothes left that I could fix. This is one of them. The straps on this jumpsuit kept breaking even after I had fixed it several times. During the workshop I have learned to strengthen the weakest area first before mending it. Let's hope it works better this time! I know there is still much more to learn and many more ways to mend things, so I will keep exploring. Thank you Emma and Danika!

When did you join the workshop? (Month and Year)
I joined the workshop in August 2023

Do you still wear or use the item?
I did not bring my own thing to the workshop, but I got one from another person who was in the workshop. I helped her repair it for her and she is still wearing it

Did you (visibly) mend other items since the workshop?
Yes, the trousers of my son. There was a hole in the knee and I fixed it by sewing a zigzag row by hand. It was an interesting experiment for me because I was curious if I could fix it in a right way. The outcome is very nice, so I’m happy. I tried to apply what I learned in the workshop. And when my son saw the result he was so happy and thanking me much.

Did your skills improve since the workshop?
Yes because when I saw one of my trousers which had bleach on it, now I have an idea of how to fix it. So I was glad that I attended the workshop

Did you share or discuss mending with others?
Yes at my work. They were curious and asked me about my mending experiences during the workshop. I tried to explain visible mending to my colleagues and they thought it was interesting.

(Month and Year) July 2023

Do you still wear or use the item you mended during the workshop? Yes I wear it once every two weeks, after having it in the closet for 2 years.

Did you (visibly) mend other items since the workshop? Yes I mended my favorite scarf that has some holes in it. Still work in progress.

Did your skills improve since the workshop? I think my skill improved in being less hasty with doing the stitches, this results into being more precise and the result is more pretty.

Did you share or discuss mending with others? I get asked a lot about my t-shirt and then I talk about the workshop I followed.
