Question 2: Chapter 8

In chapter 8, in my opinion the best information is when they brought up the difference between boys and girls body concerns (pg 238, "The Differing Body Concerns of Girls and Boys"). This caught my eye as it identified the differences between the thought of both genders. Honestly, this educated me as well because boys seem to have such a stronger mentality and such a careless mentality and like to hide their feelings. This information is honestly the best because it shows and tells you that not only girls face these issues. This issue is with everyone. The differences educates people on feelings and that it can be any gender and they can be going through a tough time trying to impress others. Us as girls may seem like we know how boys think when in reality they think the same as us. The information provided in the text proves that in my opinion.

Question 3: Chapter 9

In chapter 9, I believe that the best information given is seperating from your parents (pg 270-272, "The process: Exploring the dance of Autonomy"). This information is the best because it teaches parents to why their kids act like that and what they can do to prevent them from acting that way. What I mean by that is this section of the chapter indicates that kids aren't always kids and that we all grow up t some point so having that friendship bond with your child is really important so it helps your child know that they have someone. I believe that this is really important to where you look at your parents for advice and life complications rather than going to your friend. I feel like this explain a lot of what I go through in life and having my mom to explain to her my life achievements and there for me as my best friend helped me through a lot and taught me a lot.

Question 4: Career Quiz

Regarding my results for the first both quizzes, I somewhat agree and somewhat disagree. I say this because the questions were said in a way to where it's many likes that a person may have and what you think about it and I generally disagree because of the answer choices that are provided. I say this because it doesn't give us a option to explain more in depth on how we feel about a certain topic. Going back to my response to the first question, I don't believe it's 100% accurate regarding the fact that it doesn't generally know how I feel about a topic it just knows if I like it or not. But regarding quiz 2, I think it's more accurate because it allows you to choose what you believe you see yourself and or enjoy doing. I learned that there are many things that I may like and not know actually exist and even though I'm stuck on liking one career path there can be many more things that I can do including the career path I intend on pursuing. With my results, I can take them into consideration on trying new things and seeing if I like them or not and see if my career path changes or I add to it. I relate my results to chapter 10 because of the confusion and problems teenagers may have trying to pursue their career and honestly as I took these quizzes it made me rethink and make sure the career I chose is right for me and if Im ready for it. According to chapter 10, it explains how if you don't like reading and you want to have a psych major that's something that you need to work on.

So I plan on pursing a Nursing career. I decided to go down this road since im already doing my nursing assistant certificate. Before starting the course of being a nursing assistant, I've alway wanted to be a psychotherapist. After researching about it I seen that I wasn't ready for that and that it was going to drain me. When I started the classes to become a nursing assistant, I became very engaged and loved the topic which helped me fall in love with nursing. I know its going to be hard but its all worth it at the end and I'm very excited to start my journey.

link: https://nursinglicensemap.com/nursing-specialties/registered-nurse/

This link states the many types of nurses there are just to open your idea on the many options you have. It also explains what nurses are and what they do and provides their salary. Overall, this article explains everything you'll need to know about pursuing this nursing degree. This job entails taking care of patients, providing medication, taking vital signs, setting up a medical plan for your patient, educating you patient and family about medical diagnostic, etc. Becoming a nurse there are prerequisites such as anatomy, English, psych, etc. But to be called a nurse you need to complete a board approved program and pass your licensing exam. In Michigan, the pay scale regards on your years of experience. So your first year it starts at $42 an hour and goes up to $52 an hour which is honestly great. I learned that my career path is going to be hard to achieve and it will take many hours of studying but it Is very beneficial at the end and as you start working you'll enjoy your job and meet new patients that have a big impact on your life.

Question 6: Life Stages

I think the most "ideal" stage for me is Infancy and toddlerhood (pg 76-85, "Basic newborn state") because it give you a really good look at the different acts of the stage. Us as girls it educates us about some worries we may have as first time moms which can be very normal. But reading about it may give us a better idea for the future and what to expect as they grow. But infancy and toddlerhood being the first thing is most likely giving us an idea of how it'll all start and the results from it. This also tells us actions that may happen and how to help us and better ourselves to be less stressed on behavior and or why a child is acting that way. This is perfect to be educated to prevent things happening in the future stages.

Question 7: Most interesting

The first topic I found interesting and related to my career would have to be The health care system (pg 439-442, "what's wrong with traditional hospital care for the dying person"). I found this section very interesting because it relates to what hospitals may do. I honestly relate it to what my nursing instructor tells me how her job is and yes doctors can be mistaken on diagnosis but the way they treat the patient is really wrong when said in the textbook. I feel like it depends on the type of nurse you have because hospitals have a strict policy.

The second topic would have to be parenthood (pg 322-323, "The transition to childhood"). I chose this topic because it a big impact on my life personally. I chose this to see the side effect and advantages of starting a family may cause during your life. This well educates you on prediction that may occur when having your first child. Such as changes in your marriage and lifestyle. Honestly, having a child isn't easy and will cause many changes in your routine because now there's another human you're taking care of. I like to know the worst of something so Im very well prepared.

During this course it was calm and understanding but at first it was complicated because I've never used achieve and everything in my past classes were on Moodle. I really like that achieve wasn't hard to use and you can access everything on there including the e-book. It wasn't a complicated class it was more impacted with a lot of work to do which is honestly understandable because this is a college course. I wish that the last discussion board and exam were farther apart from each other but I understand that the end of the semester was coming up so we had to do everything back to back. Other than that this class was okay it was stressful but I'm glad I got through it.
