Carbon dating is a method that has been used by scientists for years to figure out when fossils were buried. By using exponential growth and decay, you can determine the number of carbon atoms that were originally present in the fossil, mummy, etc. To formulate this, scientists multiply the initial amount of carbon by 2, then divide it by its half-life to get its current amount. Scientists used this method to uncover the time and age in which a Pharaoh from Egypt passed away.
