The freedom of Petition gives people the right to the ability to change something in their government if they see something unfit for their community. Before this right, people would get into big trouble if they questioned authority or stood up for their rights. They would get sentenced jail time for such matter and back then, some would get killed. This rights covers this article because this community is trying to petition the government into allowing permanent residency to those immigrants who came to America to flee from war and disaster". May immigrants live with the fear of one day being separated from their family and never being able to see them again, next to that having to be returned to the horrible country they were once in.
