While the photo does not do the moon justice, in real life the moon was a bright shade of orange. It appears as though the tree was "shedding" its bark. Some inquiry points could be around trees not only losing their leaves, but some lose their bark as well. Why might a tree shed its bark? Originally I took this photo because the sun shinning over the snow blanketed field just looked really nice, however after looking at the picture afterwards I noticed the tracks in the snow. If you follow the path, it almost creates a U shape which is even more interesting. It makes me wonder; what animal made these tracks? Where might this animal have been going? Does an animals path tell you something about what it might be doing? This could spark conversation about weather, temperature, density and more. I also noticed how the snow closer to the camera was cleaner than the part further away. This could spark discussion about the tree and the animals that go on it.
