Especially when trying to find the truth about Olga, Angie, Ama and others are no help and just stand in the way even when Julia seeks their guidance. In a movie this song would play when she is getting defeated by her mother and the rest of her enemies especially when she is grounded and has made enemies :)

https://youtu.be/GHe8kKO8uds
This song displays the grief of someone letting go of losing someone and wanting to forget that they were a part of their life. Julia has this connection of losing a loved one, which was her sister Olga. She experiences this shock and tries to cope with that by displaying events in her mind, trying to figure out if her sister is actually dead. The song displays a part explaining the emotion of trying to figure out why this situation happened, and why they feel that certain emotion. Stating ̈'Cause it feels like murder to put your heart through this ̈. Displaying that emotion that one wants to let go, of but is unable to because of the love and affection they felt for that specific person. What I feel expresses as a reader, is how she feels throughout the death of Olga, she wants to let her sister's death rest at peace but is having a hard time letting her go, and having that sense of closure with her sister.

The more the story progresses, Julia continues to feel some strange guilt. The lyrics express the guilty side of Julia or her feeling responsible for the death of Olga. Although Julia is conducting her own investigation to desperately find answers that pertain to Olga, she still shows signs of regret and a lingering sense of liability. I feel like this song would most likely allow anyone to see the connection between Julia and this song itself.

I think Julia would enjoy this song. It also embodies her beliefs and experience. For example because Julia's body is developed. She is often hypersexualized or shamed for her body. This song mentions this in an empowering and relatable way. The songs also highlights many feminism points like how being addressed as women. This aligns with Julia's beliefs.

Julia right now is dealing with the loss of her sister and trying to manage after her death but of course she is missing her sister. This song is talking about missing someone who has passed away and dealing with those feelings as well. So this song is relatable to Julia in that way. In a movie this song would probably play when she is in Olgas room on page 18 and 19 because it's a moment in the story where she is thinking of memories of Olga.

Since Julia is dealing with the death of her sister, this song would be fitting as it's abpit the singer missing someone they loved. On top of this, it also represents Julia digging deeper into her sister's life to see if she had more going on than what Julia thought, signifying her not letting go of her sister's memory.

Julia feels like an outcast always being compared to her sister, Olga. Her family shows to be unsupportive of what she wants to achieve becoming a writer. The song Nobody by Mitski is about mourning her loneliness and how nobody wants her.

This song relates to Julia because the song talks about, "out of my league," and it may be like how Olga is out of her league and maybe that's why her mom thinks that Olga is, "You were more than just a dream." Julia knows that she can never be better than Olga so she knows that Olga is, "Out of my league." This song relates to the scenes where Julia talks about how Olga was her mom's favorite daughter and how she was better than her so her mom compares Olga to Julia all the time. For example, pages 2,4, and so on with another quote, "Olga's tortillas were always so nice and round," on page 33.

I believe this song relates to Julia’s depressive moods but also captures her outgoing and creative personality. When the Sun Hits by Slowdive is a love song about the worry of love burning out too fast regardless of how much love is there. The lyric “Sweet thing, I watch you (burn away)” reminds me of how Julia was reminiscing about her sister in her room on her bed. She says so many sweet things about her sister remembering her. The burn away part is more like knowing her sister is gone and all she has is memories of who her sister once was.

I chose this song for Julia because rather than listening to something sad and a song that describes the negatives about your life. I chose something that makes you feel like you have hope and something just brightens up the spirit a little more. Julia has been going to parties because of her friend Lorena and also smokes when Lorena offers. This song brings those points up but obviously in lyrical form. When you lose someone whether it's someone or yourself you want to feel like you have a purpose and this is how this song makes you feel.

This song relates to Julia because the song talks about being sad. Julia is sad, frustrated, and struggles to have a relationship with her grieving parents. Every time she does something with her mom it shows that their relationship only struggles and gets worse the more they be with each other because of their differences. Also I feel like Julia thinks its her fault her sister died and like her sister death forces her to be closer with her family and she did not know much about her sister so shes looking through her things for clues and stuff like that. Another thing the song talks about is suicide and i feel like that is what Julia might think of doing because of the way her life is getting more frustrated.
