         <description><![CDATA[<p>I remember reading Tar Beach by Faith Ringgold with my students toward the end of the school year before summer... it is a wonderful story that is rooted in a cityscape and shows a family enjoying the summer time. The quilt based artwork provides interesting illustrations, and kids can create their own quilt sharing how their family celebrates the summer. It centers joy :) </p>]]></description>
