Quote #3; Simile and Personification

"The fire was gone, then back again like a winking eye." This quote is an example of a simile and personification because it is comparing fire to a winking eye which is also giving it a human trait of blinking eyes. Since you blink a lot and fast he is saying that the firemen are constantly setting fires like every second.

Quote #2 Personification

"And fire will lift you off my shoulders, clean, quick, sure; nothing to rot later; nothing to rot later.".This quote is an example of personification because it is giving fire a human trait of being able to clear things and nothing will be left seen or able to have access again. For example when Montag and all the firemen burn houses and the books it relieves them.

"It was a special pleasure to see things eaten. to see things blackened and changed." This quote is imagery because the author is talking about how how he enjoys seeing things burn, disappear and change Montag enjoys burning things and enjoys his job.
