The science we now have helps teaching and curriculum development. So, teachers now teach differently than they did even 5 or 10 years ago (let alone when we went to school!). Parents have noticed changes.

Parent Council of King George School has arranged a presentation, and a Q/A session at King George School (May 1st, from 7-8:30 p.m.)

Some of the topics I will address include:

What happens in the brain when we are learning to read?

What's the best way to teach children to read and spell? What has changed? What has stayed the same?

How can parents support at home?
