1960 - women were expected to spend 55 hours a week doing house work. they were exactly expected to be someone's "keeper" which meant marry in her 20's, start a family asap, raise children and do house work for the rest of her life. Her purpose was to only take care of her kids and follow the rules of her "head master" aka husband. her name was not given property rights or any currency. so this inspire the women's movement.
• 50,000 feminists paraded down new york cities fifth avenue W/ linked arms. They blocked roads during major rush hours and protested that they deserve more and were worth more. most women wanted education, their own rights, and respect. They held sign such as "Don't iron while the oven is hot" "don't cook - starve a rat". it was easily the largest women's rights rally since the suffrage protest. they also did "sit ins" at bars and restaraunts. one thousand women also protested and sat at the nations capital holding a banner that was begging for equality.

• They got gender equality in workplaces and universities, and Title IX was passed in 1972. It was a big movement for women and they got good things out of it.

To this day these groups still struggle with injustice but the fight for what's right has come a long way for all of them. Racism isn't dead, many people are still shoved into a stereotype, and there's still a lot of people who think gay people are evil or gross. It's a struggle for them every day, but at least they stood up for themselves and still do.
