Wingsuit flying is one of the most thrilling and visually stunning extreme sports in the world. Athletes wear a specially designed suit with fabric between the arms and legs that creates wing-like surfaces. This design allows them to glide horizontally while falling vertically, turning a freefall into a high-speed flight through the air.

The sport usually begins with a jump from a mountain, cliff, or aircraft. Once in the air, the wingsuit generates lift, reducing the rate of descent and allowing the flyer to control direction, speed, and altitude to some extent. Flyers can reach horizontal speeds of up to 200 km/h and travel long distances before deploying their parachute to land safely.

Wingsuit flying requires excellent body control, physical fitness, and thorough training. It’s often practiced by experienced skydivers who have completed hundreds of regular jumps before trying it. The sport is dangerous and only recommended for well-trained individuals, but for many, the sensation of flying like a bird makes the risk worthwhile.
