Teachers assign students activities from a huge library of standards-mapped choices; students then log on and work through their assignments. Students review the topic until they feel confident they know the information. They then test themselves on what they know through an interactive quiz.
Pros: Individualized experiences; BrainRush adapts to each student, so if a student is doing well, questions become more difficult and the allotted time becomes shorter, and vice versa, easy-to-access, useful for providing kids with some variety when learning basic facts, which can become boring if the same approach is used over and over, good for those who need help catching up on the basics.
Cons: Information is mostly memorization based, doesn't encourage any kind of critical thinking or creativity, not likely to help students transfer the information to the real world.
http://www.brainrush.com/

Teachers can use this Chrome add-on to provide feedback in three ways: record audio feedback, type feedback, or link a resource like a YouTube video or website for students to review. In addition, teachers can use tags to rate student work as though they were using a grading rubric. Students get a sense of their progress at a glance with the tags and in detail with their teacher's longer narrative feedback. Through the tagging system, students can review their teacher's feedback over time and understand their progress in the writing process.
