We do 3-5 minute TED speeches based on the students' self-selected topics and research. Imagine adding a layer of media creation to add to the unit. They have already done all the research. This addition would be great for the kids who have trouble with the speech delivery part but not the content part of their TED talk. Also, they would have to think differently in the creation of their video, because the audience and tone would be different, and that allows for another lesson on audience and tone! So cool.
