Why do you think we did this activity? 

-       I think that this activity was a sense of following the leader and learning how to be a good follower of a peer that is essentially on the same ‘level’ as you. It was a somewhat icebreaker that allowed each student to loosen up a bit.

What can we learn from it?

-       I think the takeaway from this activity is definitely teamwork and that there will be a lot of teamwork in this class. Especially with this activity, one needed the other and we will see more of that throughout the semester. 

Why do you think I selected these readings and video to start the course? 

-       I feel that these readings along with the video we watched together in class do a great job in showing the importance of exposure to all cultures. The video showed how a woman with a very positive upbringing can still be seen as a struggling African just by the way she is represented. Having these readings and video start the course show why learning diversity in woman and all genders are crucial to respecting equality amongst all. 

 

How do you think they frame the course? 

-       I feel that they framed the course perfectly but showing what we will be hoping to cover and aim our discussions towards. I think it opens the door to many discussions surrounding feminism I think we will see how this class will challenge our different perceptions and the way we view what we may know as ‘singe stories.’

I chose to take this course to broaden my perspective on feminism and the multiple aspects of diversity and culture. I feel that I will learn a lot from this class and really benefit from it. 

If I could be an instant expert on any topic, I would want it to be cryptocurrency because I feel that with that skill I could be very successful at a young age.
