Two of the main methods of freezing the body was to put the victim on an icy vat of water and to strap the victim to a stretcher outside naked in ridiculously cold temperatures. The icy vat was usually the faster method. The people were also put into tanks of ice water for as long as three hours. The victims were young healthy Russians or young healthy Jewish people.  Most people died at the low body temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. The Nazi doctors did cuts on her uterus and left her not able to have children. When her husband found out this devastating news, he divorced her. When Ms. B tried to help her sister, she got beaten across her face and her ears bled out and got infected. As of her personal statement, she is now 100% deaf in her right ear and 80% deaf in her left ear. Another survivor, Ms. A had an experiment done in her uterus in which she was given shots and had faints from severe pain for a year and a half. A couple years later when she went to an OBGYN, he said that her uterus had become the uterus of a four year old girl and her ovaries shrank. He had created a tablet, Polygal, which was made from beet and apple pectin. He believed that these tablets could help stop the bleeding from wounds in combat or surgery.Each of his subjects was given a tablet and then shot in the neck or chest to test the efficacy of Polygal. Later on, those inmates would have their limbs amputated  without any use of anesthesia. Subjects were deliberately wounded on the outer side of their calves. Physicians then rubbed a mixture of bacteria into the open wounds before sewing them shut. Glass splinters were also introduced into the wounds to mimic the situation in battles.However, this method proved to be too mild in comparison to conditions on the front lines. To simulate gunshot wounds, blood vessels were tied up on both sides to stop circulation. The subjects were then given sulfa drugs. Holocaust Remembrance Day marks the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camps in 1945. Jewish people were excluded from public life on September 15th, 1935 when the Nuremberg Laws were issued. These laws also stripped German Jews of their citizenship and their right to marry Germans. This then led to the Jews and other races being sent to concentration or even the death camps that were created.
