As such, helping someone is like loving God, and that serves to improve this enormous world a little bit. As a result, we should acknowledge that nourishing people's physical needs are not the main goal; rather, we long to see their smiles and fulfill their spiritual needs because doing so is worth more than all of the money in the world.

Moreover, I believe that the world is too huge and unfair for people to think only about themselves and not as a part of something bigger.  Since helping one another helps the world go round, we should all be considerate and helpful to those in need. There are always chances to be helpful, the chance to do good is always there, we just have to find one.

Vincent, also referred to as the Apostle of Charity, spent his entire priesthood life in his native country serving the underprivileged.Through their acts of kindness, saints like Vincent de Paul demonstrate to us that we can and must join  God in standing up for the weak, downtrodden, and disadvantaged.

As Catholics, we must continue to work on issues related to global hunger, human rights, establishing peace, and advancing justice in order to follow St. Vincent de Paul's example. The ultimate spiritual and transcendent destiny of the human being is not in conflict with this social mission. It assumes this fate and is ultimately focused in this direction. If this planet is the only route we have to heaven, then we must work to keep it in good condition and do everything in our power to remove any barriers that sin—both internal and external—has erected in its path. Catholics believe that spirituality must involve more than just internal reflection. Even when referring to a parish, the adjective "parochial" is too frequently used to describe someone who is small-minded and only thinks about local issues without considering larger, more universal issues. The Eucharist serves as a reminder that, unlike other ideologies or political platforms, Jesus Christ is the one who gave birth to our resolve as Catholics to strive for peace and justice in the world. Therefore, the practice of what the Catechism refers to as the corporal and spiritual works of mercy is how we demonstrate our "solidarity" with the world of suffering. This solidarity is expressed in allegiance to concrete individuals in whom we are to see the face of Christ rather than lofty ideals.  

St. Vincent regarded the underprivileged as his friends and relatives. He saw it as a privilege to serve them since in doing so, he was serving Christ in his neighbor. With true, loving, and joyous charity, he brought the Presence of Christ to them. The less fortunate weren't burdens; rather, they were hearty, soulful, and intelligent men, women, and kids. How the world would begin to change if we could all simply view those in need with the same love and compassion. How we may start to alter, so that we might become the Christ-like individuals that God has designed us to be via our love for one another and participation in God's life.   Fittingly, his heart remains incorrupt.

As we celebrate today the feast day of St. Vincent de Paul, we reflect on how St. Vincent obeyed God's mission for him as an instrument to help others. God's heart is mercy and as we show mercy to others, we should be like St. Vincent whose character portrays sincerity and compassion. Helping is deeper than we actually thought, it involves sacrifices and humility. We are made to share the love that God has given us and we are made not only to  pity others but to show our mercy by making actions that could help the ones who are in need.
