Primates are able to use these adaptations of communication signals to talk to each other. These behaviors are considered group behaviors. Communication allows individuals to visually attract mates (i.e. with plumage), which increases their fitness and ability to reproduce. Birds adapted to attract mates by having and showing their plumage. Monkeys have the behavior of yelling, because they've adapted to know to warn others when danger is near. By helping each other, their fitness increases, and animals have a greater chance of survival through natural selection.

All in all, I believe social behaviors are very important for the survival of organisms. If animals are isolated from their "group", they have a greater chance of dying, since they have nobody to depend on to communicate with, mate with, or defend.
