HISTORY: American Indians lived thousands of years before the settlers came. Indians lived in peace and solitude until the European settlers came. Indians were made to leave their homes and relocate. After some time passed some Indians sided with the settlers while the others relocated to the western region.  HEALTH: American Indians believe that health is based on living in total harmony with nature and your survival. The Earth provides them with food and homes and in return they must treat take care of the earth and treat her with respect. Also they believe the body is controlled by spirits. 

ILLNESS: American Indians believe that illness is a price that needs to be paid. Illness happens because of something bad they have done in the past, or something bad a person will do in the future. American Indians also believe that disease has a spiritual aspect.
